The Indians waive RP Jeanmar Gomez Phillies $0.50 M (5 Yrs) ARB(-) OPT(0) buying out all $2.500 M of his remaining contract.
The Indians also activated 1B/OF Ian Desmond Rockies $3.00 M (2 Yrs) ARB(-) OPT(0) from the DL and place him on the bench. To make room, they have demoted C Stephen Vogt Athletics $3.00 M (3 Yrs)
ARB(-) OPT(3*) Trade -1364 AB to the reserves using is 2017 option.

The Indians have signed SP Dylan Covey, White Sox to a six-year minor league contract with a $0.050 M signing bonus. He was placed on the minor league roster which had room due to previous promotions.

Demote the following players to the reserve roster using the 2017 option on both players.
2B Ryan Goins Blue Jays $0.400 M (1 Yr) ARB(-) OPT(3*) - 559 AB
2B Scooter Gennett Reds $0.50 M (4 Yrs) ARB(-) OPT(2*) -1526 AB
Sign 3B James Nelson, Marlins to a 6-year Minor League contract with a $1.600 M signing bonus.
With these moves, the Indians reserve roster has 13 players and my minor league roster is full at 40 players.
