PLAYOFFS & TEAM BONUSES
A. PLAYOFFS:
1. The playoffs will consist of 8 teams: the 4 divisional winners and 2 wild-cards per league.
1a. Each rd of the playoffs will be 1 week except for the FINALS which will be 2 weeks in length.
2. The playoffs will be separated by league, with the ALCS winner competing against the NLCS winner for the Field of Dreams championship.
3. Wild-card winners will be the two teams with the highest winning percentage in each league who did not win their divisions. They may both come from the same division.
4. There will also be a "Second Chance" playoffs which will consist of 8 teams, using solely the 8 next best records and tie-breakers listed below. This means that the 4 worst records in the league will not take part in either the playoffs or second chance playoffs.
5. Teams that make the playoffs (not the best of the rest playoffs) will receive bonuses that may be used toward their cap the following season.
6. All playoff teams (not the best of the rest playoffs) will get a $250,000 Cap bonus, and the two teams in the World series will get another $500,000. This makes the maximum season Salary Cap attainable $100,750,000.
7. If a team fails to meet the IP requirement (35 IP) during the playoffs it will lose all points from the round and be automatically eliminated.
8. FA signings are not permitted in the playoffs.
9. Reminder that all contract buyouts must be completed within 48 hrs of our World Series champion being crowned and must include the entire amount owed to the player.
B. TIEBREAKERS:
1. Breaking a tie between 2 teams for playoff berths will be done as follows:
a. If two teams are tied, heads up match-up will be the first tiebreaker. Add the match-ups together, if they played more than once, for a total winning pct. (adding 6-5-1 to 3-8-1 to get 9-13-2 and therefore 10-14 for a winning pct of .417 - ties counted as 1/2 loss and 1/2 win).
b. Next tiebreakers is If all the tied teams are in the same division, best winning percentage in that division.
c. Next is the winning percentage in that league (AL or NL)
d. Next, the Winning Percentage vs Team With Best Regular Season Record (excluding the tied teams).
e. If there is still a tie, then Winning Percentage vs Team With 2nd Best Regular Season Record. Then vs 3rd Best, and so on.

a. Add the heads up matches together to determine best total winning percentage. If there are now only two tied teams, return to BREAKING A TIE BETWEEN TWO TEAMS
b. Next is if all of the tied teams are in the same division, best winning percentage in that division.
c. Next is if any of the tied teams are in different divisions, best winning percentage in that league (AL or NL).
d. Next, Winning Percentage vs Team With Best Regular Season Record (excluding the tied teams). If there is still a tie, then Winning Percentage vs Team With 2nd Best Regular Season Record. Then vs 3rd Best, and so on.
