This amendment addresses the following issues:
1. Reserve player call ups in the case of injury
Example: Alejandro Kirk C, TOR is demoted to the Reserves roster and replaced by Ryan Jeffers C, MIN. The next day Ryan Jeffers is injured and added to the 15-day IL. In this scenario, the GM would be allowed to place Ryan Jeffers on the IL recall Alejandro Kirk immediately to replace him, even though the 7-day period has not elapsed
2. Two year constitution change rule
3. Off-season injured player
1. Reserve player call ups in the case of injury
- Current rule specifies that any player demoted to the Reserves roster cannot be recalled to the Active roster for a period of 7 days
- New rule would allow GMs to recall that player sooner than 7-days if the move is to replace an injured player
- New rule would approximate the rules that MLB follows where they are allowed to recall players faster due to injuries
- Current rule allows for the same issues to be brought up and voted on every season
- New rule would be that any amendment that is passed cannot be voted on again until two seasons have passed
3. Off-season injured player
- Our current constitution is a little vague as to how injured players are counted towards 40-man limits during the off-season
- New language would be added to the constitution to reinforce an existing rule that states a player must be officially added to the IL in MLB before the player can be added to the IL in Fantrax and not count against the 40-man
- This rule would be consistent with MLB rules in that there is essentially no IL during the off-season until the season starts
