2017 Rookie Draft - Start time and more information

Now that the MLB draft is wrapped up and most of the big talent has signed with their respective teams, it's time to get moving on our 2017 rookie draft. Looking back to last year, it looks like we started the draft in the middle of July. To keep in line with that timeline, I think we should start the draft on Monday, July 17 at 8:00 am CST. Here is a bit more information about the draft:
- The draft will be run on the forums HERE. To make your selection, simply click the round the draft is in and reply to the post with your pick. Please include the player's name (spelled correctly), position and team he plays for
- Each team will have 12 hours to make his selection. If you get skipped once, you will be immediately skipped in any future picks you have UNLESS you have logged in and made up the pick you missed
- DO NOT add the player on Fantrax immediately after selecting him. Once the draft is completely wrapped up (e.g. all 5 rounds are completed), there will be a singing period in which teams will decide if they want to formally add the players to their minors roster. From there, they will post the signing in their transaction thread and make any corresponding moves necessary to make room for the newly signed players (e.g. waive other minors players if necessary)
Also, I've said this plenty of times already, but PLEASE look through all 5 rounds in the draft thread HERE and make sure that all of your draft picks are listed there and you aren't missing any. If you notify Kaj or I that one of your picks was not entered in properly or was missing after the pick has passed, it will be too late. I've done my best to update the draft picks, but it's ultimately you're responsibility to ensure your picks are entered in correctly. If you do see an error or something that's not correct, let me know ASAP.
