Hey guys,
I didn't want to have to write this post, but feel it's necessary as we've already had 3 or 4 instances of teams bidding more than they have in available cap. Up to this point, we've notified the teams violating this rule and issued a warning. However, from this point forward, we will no longer be issuing warnings and will start issuing fines/penalties per the constitution. While I hate to issue any fines or penalties at all, this particular rule exists so that teams aren't artificially inflating the values of these players by issuing illegal bids. As a reminder, here are the fines/penalties for violating this rule:
12. If your high bids take you over your Salary Cap, you will be assessed one of the following penalties:
1st Offense: 24-hour ban from bidding or claims, and a $250,000 fine
2nd Offense: 48-hour ban from bidding and claims, and a $500,000 fine
3rd Offense: 72-hour ban from bidding and claims, and a $1,000,000 fine PLUS an automatic ownership review by the 3 Commissioners
13. If a GM overbids, the 48 HR clock restarts on all bids in which that GM was the highest bidder. Only the bid that pushed the GM over the cap and subsequent bids while over the cap will be deleted. The 2nd highest bidder can accept his bid as the top bid. If that GM no longer wants the bid, it would go to the 3rd highest and down the line. However, if another GM makes a counter bid with a value higher than the 2nd highest bid, the player's bidding would restart with the new counter offer.
PLEASE double check to make sure you're not going over your cap space prior to submitting bids. I know it can get confusing with so many players being bid on, but ultimately, it's your responsibility to ensure you're staying under the cap
