It's hard to believe, but the Field of Dreams regular season is almost over... this season has flown by. Since the playoffs start in just a few days, I wanted to remind everyone of a few items:
- Free Agency: Free agency will close Friday, September 1, at 8:00 am CST. Once this time has passed, no other players can be bid on until free agency re-opens this off-season (date to be announced at a later date)
- Playoff Information: Just a reminder that the playoffs are SEPARATED by league and 4 teams from each league will make the playoffs (8 teams total). The 2 division winners from each league (4 teams total) and 2 wild cards from each league (4 total) will make up the playoff teams.
- Teams MUST reach at least 35 IP in each playoff matchup (and 70 IP in the 2 week championship). If a team DOES NOT reach the 35 IP (or 70 IP in championship) minimum, they will lose the matchup and be eliminated from the playoffs
C. PLAYOFF ROSTERS:
1. A team may designate any 27 players from its 40-man roster to its active roster each round.
2. Any lineup requests must be requested and posted before FANTRAX rosters lock on the first day of each round of the playoffs.
3. No promotions or demotions will be permitted unless a player on the majors roster is injured during the match-up. The injury must be universally understood as significant enough to prevent the player from finishing the round. Once the player is removed from the roster, he may not be added back to it in the same round. (if this happens, please inform the league in your team transaction of the move you're making. Also, you may want to consult with the commissioners to ensure the move is legal).
4. If promoted or demoted:
a. A SP may only be replaced if the pitcher is going to miss a start(s). Therefore, you can not add a SP to make a start, unless you're losing a start due to injury.
b. Starters must be replaced by starters.
c. Relief pitchers must be replaced by relief pitchers.
d. Batters must be replaced by batters.
e. A relief pitcher may replace an injured starter in the event the team is having difficulty meeting the minimum IP.
*All teams MUST post their final 27 man (includes 19 starting players and 8 man bench) playoff roster before each round. To do this, post a transaction in the team transaction thread with your entire 27 man roster included. Please post the rosters AND finalize them in Fantrax prior to the first games for each playoff matchup. If you do not post your rosters before, you risk being disqualified.
