For those who don't know Red Sox has stepped down from the league so we will be finding a replacement for that team.

If you are not in the league WhatsApp chat here's some discussion going on..

It was brought up that we should wait to allow Ohtani to go into free agency until we find a replacement for Red Sox team.

My concern - Red Sox has 70m in cap. And giving a noob with 70m in cap, with a huge target on the block is asking for trouble, IMO. If we wait to find a new owner it "could" be two weeks down the road. Which would delay even further. We know the ramifications of over spending, and will deal accordingly. My concern is new guy comes in, bids 40m on Ohtani, realizes he screwed up and then leaves the league in the off-season with a team that has a terrible financial standing.

Counters: Everyone should have a chance at Ohtani regardless the amount spent, including the new owners. Free Market!

Please weigh in and let me know what you think!

As of now we have about 5 or 6 who want to wait until new owner is found and 2 who don't.

As I said in the chat, I am for Free Market. I believe we were waiting until July 2 on Ohtani and we should go ahead with that schedule no matter what (new owner or not). This signing is a game changer and with the close races in each division makes this signing very pivotal. I don't believe I will have a chance, but it will be fun to watch.

He will be signed with an MiLB signing bonus if he does not pitch two more outs. Plan accordingly..

question- the july 2nd date - I'm assuming, that is when we can place bids on the 2017 j-2 class as well as ohtani? I'm also assuming this seasons j-2 signings will be available next season? please let me know if I have this right- thanks all- glad to be here
