Who will be the first Champion? The St-Louis Cardinals, of course. lol. But if healthy, the Astros may be hard to beat in the AL. And if not the Cards out of the NL, I'd say the Cubs have a great chance of making it out of the NL.
Who is your biggest rival(s) in your own division and/or conference? I do believe the Buck Weaver Division may be the toughest in the league and expect all teams in it to be competitive. But the power/speed/arms combo that the Dbacks put together may be the most dangerous of all.
Who on your team do you need to have perform to succeed? Miguel Sano. If he can help lead my offensive side of the game alongside Machado, I think he could be the biggest difference maker. Having said that, having a healthy SP staff by mid May would also be critical. If not, could get ugly.
How do you feel about your roster overall? Knowingly and unknowingly took on many risky pitching picks. From Darvish to Bailey to Chapman to Norris, my entire staff has question marks on the SP side. That's also why I traded for someone like Henry Owens, who I hope can help on that front. Therefore, I'm crossing my fingers that my pitching can come through, because if it does, the Cards could be dangerous.
Are you happy with the way you drafted, or do you feel you could have done things differently? There are a few picks I likely would now make later if I could go back, but on the whole I feel like I have a fairly balanced team for where I drafted. On a 1 to 10 scale, I'd give it a 7.5 or 8, which isn't too bad. Not outstanding, but not bad.

Who will be the first Champion? Not to be a homer but I think I have a really strong chance. With the way our league is scored I think strong starting pitching can be a big advantage combined with well-rounded lineups. I also like the Astros, Mariners, Cards.
Who is your biggest rival(s) in your own division and/or conference? I think in my division it will come down to me and the Mets.
Who on your team do you need to have perform to succeed? I have a few guys with question marks - can d'Arnaud and Rendon stay healthy? Will Segura bounce back in the desert? Can Taylor continue his hot start and force more playing time? What the heck will happen with Soler?
How do you feel about your roster overall? I feel pretty confident with the balance of my roster. As mentioned above I have some question marks but I have enough balance to absorb a few burnouts if some of the above guys blow it. I have Tomas and Domingo Santana on the bench and either could be high quality starters to fill holes.
Are you happy with the way you drafted, or do you feel you could have done things differently? I put early round emphasis on hitting with Arrenado, Rendon and Soler and then looked at SP and am extremely happy with my young arms led by Wacha, Matz, Pineda, Odorrizi and Iglesias. That is the heart of my team and it was by design. I built this team with an eye on hitting its stride next year but I think, if a few things fall right, we can be pretty great this year as well.

Who will be the first Champion?
I hate to be a homer like everyone else so far, but I like my chances coming out of the AL. I think the Royals will be my toughest opposition there, but can see the Mariners, Rangers or A's competing as well. In the NL, I like the Mets or Cubs. The Cards are a team who can make a run at it too.
Who is your biggest rival(s) in your own division and/or conference?
I don't have any serious rivalries yet, but I think I'll quickly develop some in what will likely be a very tough AL West. If I had to pick a team, I'd go out on a limb and say Royals just because I think they will be serious contenders.
Who on your team do you need to have perform to succeed?
I really need Puig to live up to his potential and have a solid year (I think he will). I reached in the draft to grab him and really can't afford for him to flop. An OF of Harper, Cain, and a healthy Puig may be the best in the league.
How do you feel about your roster overall?
I really like my lineup and don't see any real weakness in it (assuming minimal injuries, but that can be said about most teams). As for my rotation, I think I have some solid SP who can eat up innings, as well as a few guys with good to great upside (McCullers, Nola, Corbin). My biggest concern is my lack of SP depth outside of the ones on my active roster. With Anderson and Lynn out with long term injuries, I could be in trouble if another starter or 2 goes down for an extended period of time.
Are you happy with the way you drafted, or do you feel you could have done things differently?
Yes, for the most part. I went in with a strategy and felt I stuck with it as well as I could. It's interesting to look back at the early rounds of the draft and see some of the picks since they were picked so long ago (last summer).

Who will be the first Champion? Diamondbacks. Period. End of story. Fin. The end. Unless of course I'm wrong... Failing my inevitable championship, I think I'd have to go with Seattle or San Francisco. Seattle's power is pretty intimidating, and the Giants don't seem to have any weaknesses.
Who is your biggest rival(s) in your own division and/or conference? I wasn't about to sling mud this early, but since the Cards called me out (not really, but sort of) I'll be making sure to give an especially rousing pep-talk to my team when we travel to St. Louis.
Who on your team do you need to have perform to succeed? I think that two of my most important players were fortunate to end up in the right situations, although those situations were still to be determined when drafted. Carlos Gonzalez, luckily for me, stuck around Colorado. And Johnny Cueto landed in what I think is hands down the best ballpark and defense for a pitcher to play in. I think they both have big potential, and will end up being steals.
How do you feel about your roster overall? I'm both falling in love, and nitpicking my team at the same time. Pretty scared with my pitching, as I think we all are, but I think my hitting should be enough to make up for it.
Are you happy with the way you drafted, or do you feel you could have done things differently? I didn't really pick most of my players (I grabbed a team that someone left behind), but the little drafting I did do I feel confident in. Obviously the goal of a dynasty team is to have young players. With that in mind, I think I grabbed some pretty decent values in elder guys who can perform for a year or two rather than picking those AAAA players who play with your emotions getting yanked back and forth from the minors to majors. I am very unhappy with only assigning CarGo a 2 year contract though. Not quite sure what I was thinking there.

Who will be the first Champion? Dodgers..
Who is your biggest rival(s) in your own division and/or conference? Too Early..
Who on your team do you need to have perform to succeed? Youth to play to their potential, vets to meet their expectations..
How do you feel about your roster overall? Drafted and traded for the starting 4 i desired in Rodon, Stroman, Gausman and Bauer. Young arms that have upside, but they need to reach that upside. I have a lot of young players up the middle in Swihart, Odor, Bogaerts, Buxton that need to produce. I am old at the corners- but that can addressed.
Are you happy with the way you drafted, or do you feel you could have done things differently? Traded down early and often, but i think i did fine in the 7-17 MiLB rounds to offset the weakness of lacking high end prospects. Since i drafted such a young team, i have time to fill prospect gap. Initial contract terms were too generous, Early round players should have cost more- say 10 millon then 5 million. That would have forced owners to commit $45 million in salary after 6 rounds. Just an observation - i think this is a well run league. i tailored my early draft plan around signing young players who i could control for 6 years at what i consider bargain basement initial contract costs. I figured we had a few prospect pigs who would trade down and load up on early picks, so i tried to exploit the early middle MiLB rounds.
