This thread will be used to note favorable or unfavorable aspects of each site. I'll start off with a few easy ones for each and will compile them here as they are posted:
CBS
Favorable
- Already used to it and already setup
- Significant number of Commissioner features
- Remaining with this site allows for maintaining the history of the league
- Was relatively easy to use once you get used to it
Unfavorable
- High cost
- Not only is the cost high, but administrators are slow to respond to issues, refuse to address some, and it's almost impossible to get them to add players to the database
- Does not allow full rosters and forces owners to post a ton of transactions as a result
ESPN
Favorable
- Free to use
- Well established site with almost zero chance of disappearing any time soon
Unfavorable
- Still doesn't allow for full rosters and may actually have fewer players listed than CBS does
- Although the site is established, Fantasy sports are not their entire focus and the research tools reflect that
Fantrax
Favorable
- Up-and-coming completely Fantasy focused site
- Doing well enough to expect it to stick around long-term
- Due to lower overhead costs, the cost to use is a fraction of the cost for CBS (less than $4 each)- Most flexible of the 3 sites
- Includes ALL players which may allow us to track everything on the site instead of posting transactions on Proboards
- Allows for a "best of the rest" option which runs concurrently to the playoffs
- Has better research tools than CBS
- Intuitive, responsive, and Fantasy focused site ensures they'll continue to get better from here
Unfavorable
- There's still a nominal cost which is more than ESPN has
- Although they're doing well, you never know how things will go for smaller sites in the long-term
- May be blocked by some work environment networks (like mine)
