We have two managers (HOU and CHW) that are not actively participating in the management of their respective teams. This includes leaving injured and minors players in the starting lineup, missing the min IP floor every week, making no attempts to bid on replacements, and not responding to messages from commissioners. We've reached out to both managers numerous times to rectify these issues but have not received a response. Nothing against either manager, but we feel like we have no choice but to move forward with the following actions:
1. We remove access to Fantrax, ProBoards, and WhatsApp.
2. The commissioners will take over basic management of both teams, which will include setting the daily lineup with the existing team roster only. We won't make trades, promote minors players, or bid on new players.
3. We will begin recruiting two new mangers to take over both teams immediately.
4. The HOU franchise will be allowed to write off the five players under contract who are not on a MLB roster and are effectively retired (Eduardo Escobar, Madison Bumgarner, Noah Syndergaard, Jake Odorizzi, and Brad Boxburger).
5. The CHW franchise will be allowed to write off the five players under contract who are not on an MLB roster and are effectively retired (Josh Donaldson, Tyler Naquinn, Mike Minor, Kevin Smith, and Matt Bush).
6. The IP fines for both teams will be waived if the new manager actively participates for the remainder of the year and makes good faith attempts to meet the IP requirement.
7. Both teams will be given the option to rename their teams.
8. Both managers will be required to pay the full league fee.
9. If contacted by the departing managers, we will offer to refund their league fee.
The commissioner team has been wrestling with this issue for awhile and delayed taking action as long a possible so as to allow both managers an opportunity to get back in the game, but we're now of the opinion that we have to do something. We feel strongly that the actions outlined above are in the best interest of the league and give us a realistic path for both teams to become competitive in a reasonable time frame.
We will be putting this into a poll on ProBoards and passing the measure with a majority vote.
