To make room for him on the active roster, Jake Odorizzi - $3m/yr (4 yrs) ARB(-) OPT(4) is demoted to the reserve roster. I'm an idiot and listed the wrong player as being demoted in the previous transaction. It should have been Matt Andriese that's demoted - $400k/yr (2 yrs) ARB(-) Opt (3)

The Astros sign C.C. Sabathia to a $3m (2 Yrs) ARB(-) OPT(-) deal. Sabathia is placed on the active roster. To make room for Sabathia, Xavier Cedeno - $0.4m (1 Yr) ARB(-) OPT(3) is demoted to the reserve roster. His option is not exercised yet as final verification has not yet taken place.
To make room for Cedeno on the reserve roster, the Astros waive Brett Oberholtzer - $0.4m (3 Yrs) ARB(-) OPT(2)

To make room for McHugh on the reserve roster, the Astros waive Curt Casali - $0.4m (5 years) ARB('20-'22) OPT(3). The Astros are only responsible for Casali's pre-arbitration years so the cap hit will be through 2019.
